About
"Leadership is not about titles, positions and flowcharts. It’s about one life influencing another."

Taking the lead - Becky Frank
Becky is a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills; someone who can cast vision and motivate others to get involved. Becky has a breadth and depth of experience in several fields. She has taught in schools in the USA, the Middle East and in Scotland. These cross cultural experiences have helped her identify unmet needs in communities and systemic gaps in various institutional structures. Networking is her forte. Given that people are the bedrock of any endeavour, Becky consistently recruits and empowers local people in her innovative projects.
She has vast experience in working with volunteers. She understands the value of another’s expertise and their desire to make a difference. Becky has recruited and equipped volunteers for a range of service projects including:
-
raising attainment and parental engagement among primary children who have a learning delay due to their socio-economic environment
-
mentoring programmes for vulnerable, at-risk children
-
coordinating service teams in: Venzuela, the UK, the Middle East and South Africa
-
training English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers for a Continuing Professional Development course at Mar Elias College, Israel
Becky also networks with local and national agencies to pool and share available resources for community benefit. Becky also believes that leading is about empowering others. Examples of this include:
-
envisioning and recruiting staff for the creation of a ‘Bridging the Gap’ programme in Nazareth, Israel for English-speaking Arab students and ex-pats
-
founding ‘The Harbour, an educational outreach centre in Nazareth, Israel as both a resource centre for residents and providing EFL opportunities for children and adults
-
as the Middle East Field Coordinator for a global mission organisation in establishing ‘Barnabus’ teams; providing young people and adults with an opportunity to serve others world-wide using their skills
-
establishing a charitable Foundation that provides opportunities for others to serve their communities and nations around the world by sharing their time, talents and their resources
-
compiling a business plan for the refurbishment of a derelict church building which, following a huge renovation, then resulted in a thriving multi-purpose community space in a disadvantaged community
-
developing ‘Building Resilience Through Partnership’ events that
cultivate a connectedness across third sector, faith groups,
statutory agencies and education services, leading to action plans
that are aimed at building strong, healthy families and resilient
communities.
